MODULE 2:
Creative forest

Duration: 3 x 2 hours lessons

Challenge

To design and create a creature with special powers as part of a 3D Augmented Reality experience.  


Activities

Lesson 1

  • Define your favorite place on earth using the criteria from My Place Creative Brief.

  • Create a scene of your favourite place using coloured paper (simple shapes) and glue.

  • Draw up individual scene elements in Google Drawings to create your augmented content.

Lesson 2

  • Upload individual scene elements to Plattar and position them to assemble “a stage”.

  • Test out your augmented content so far by using the Koneki app on tablets, iPads or mobile handsets.

  • Consider other augmented content that could be added to the scene (refer to Extension Activities).

Lesson 3

  • Design an emblem in Google Drawing to symbolise your favourite place, to create your trigger image.

  • Open Plattar and upload trigger image, save, then print off.

  • Test your AR experience, again using the Koneki app, before sharing with class


Outcomes

At the end of this lesson students will understand how to design and create a digital scene using diagramming software, AR software, and file conversion to complete their AR experience
